Boileroom is a young theatre company dedicated to the collective research and development of unpredictable, exhilarating theatre and is a past winner of the Samuel Beckett Award for innovative theatre. At the heart of the company’s work is a laboratory approach to making performance. Cabaret Electrique is a surreal performance which celebrates the shock and wonder of the dawning of a new age created by the discovery of electricity and man’s relationship to its mechanised culture.
After the interval you are invited to enter the skewed world of The History Girls as they take their version of history and put a wig on it, with a little help along the way with live music. Through a gaggle of ridiculous characters, from Boudica to the Brontés, they celebrate the British eccentric and our illustrious past. The refreshing result is classic comedy with a unique female twist.
