Red Priest
The Bach Project: 'Johann, I’m Only Dancing!'
Monday 3rd August 2009
Sponsored by D W Moore & Co Ltd
Red Priest is the only early music group in the world to have been compared to The Rolling Stones, Jackson Pollock, The Marx Brothers, Spike Jones and the Cirque du Soleil. Described by critics as "outrageous yet compulsive", and “wholly irreverent and highly enlightened”, this extraordinary acoustic foursome's interpretation of Bach is refreshing and invigorating. The light-hearted title of their performance (taken from a David Bowie song) reflects the infectious spirit of dance which pervades much of Bach’s music.
